30-arrow qualifier followed by a mixed team elimination round, 18 arrows per team round
Archers will shoot 10 ends of 3 arrows at a 10-ring FITA target face, or 3-spot target, for a total of 300 possible points. Archers will have 2 minutes to shoot 3 arrows. Archers are ranked according to cumulative score for awards. In the event of a tie, total X count will be used to break tie followed by total 10’s.
Mixed team rounds are head-to-head elimination matches between teams using cumulative score; the team with the higher score wins the match and continues to the next round until a winner is decided.
Teams are drawn at random with archers of different age divisions and bow categories comprising one mixed team. Example: a team can be comprised of 1 NASP, 1 Olympic recurve and 1 Bowhunter archer. Each team is randomly placed in a competition bracket for elimination matches.
A team of 3 archers will shoot 18 arrows in 3 ends of 6 arrows (2 arrows per archer) for a total of 18 arrows, 180 points. Archers will have 3 minutes to shoot 6 arrows.
If a team match is tied then the match is decided in a shoot-off. Each archer in the team shoots one arrow. The highest cumulative score of 3 arrows wins the match. If no winner can be decided, the process is repeated until a winner is found. Archers will have 1 minute and 30 seconds to shoot 3 arrows.
Further details on how Youth Invitational team rounds work are available here.
Qualifier- Archers will participate in the qualifier in the following age divisions: Cub (ages 8-11) Youth (ages 12-14), Young Adult (ages 15-18). Age divisions are determined by the age of the archer on the date of event. Awards will be given to the top three (3) scores for each age division.
Mixed Team- Archers will participate in the mixed team rounds in the 20 yard or 10 yard distances. Age divisions and genders are mixed for team rounds.
